THE HONORABLE GEORGE P. RADANOVICH

The Honorable George P. Radanovich brings over 40 years of distinguished experience spanning public service, private enterprise, and strategic consultation. As a former eight-term Member of Congress and successful entrepreneur, Mr. Radanovich offers HillStaffer clients unparalleled expertise in navigating complex policy challenges across multiple sectors including agriculture, energy, water resources, transportation, telecommunications, real estate, and land use.

Mr. Radanovich represented California’s 19th District in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1995 to 2011, where he earned recognition for his leadership on critical Western issues. He served on the Resources Committee as Subcommittee Chair for National Parks, Water and Power, and held positions on the Budget, Foreign Relations, and Energy and Commerce Committees. His legislative achievements include contributing to the balanced budget in 1996 and founding several influential caucuses, including the Wine Caucus, Croatia Caucus, and serving as Chair of the Western Caucus and Armenian Caucus.

Prior to HillStaffer, Mr. Radanovich served as President of the California Fresh Fruit Association, advocating for California’s fresh fruit industry on federal and international policy issues. He led proactive initiatives on water and labor challenges, including sponsoring the Ag Labor Summit in Washington, D.C., and championing efforts to secure 2.5 million acre feet of Delta water for the San Joaquin Valley.

Mr. Radanovich’s public service began at the local level as a Mariposa County Supervisor, where he also served as Chairman of both the Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors. His deep understanding of rural California governance, combined with his Congressional experience, provides clients with unique insights into multi-level government relations.

Mr. Radanovich’s private sector experience includes founding Radanovich Winery in 1986, where he pioneered winemaking in Mariposa County, becoming the first to plant vineyards and open a winery there since Prohibition. This entrepreneurial venture earned him the distinction of being the first winemaker to serve in Congress since Thomas Jefferson. He successfully achieved Sierra Foothills appellation status and industry recognition for the region while producing limited releases under the Radanovich Winery and 1,000 Vines labels.

Mr. Radanovich, a native Californian, earned a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Business Management from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo. He is a graduate of the California Agriculture Leadership Program and has been recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow by Rotary International. He is also an accomplished author and columnist on politics and cultural reformation. Mr. Radanovich resides in Mariposa County, home to Yosemite National Park, where he continues his lifelong commitment to Western water issues, agricultural policy, and rural community development.
