MICHAEL PARR
Michael Parr is a Senior Advisor of HillStaffer, where he leads public policy and corporate strategic issues initiatives. Michael has nearly 35 years of experience in the energy and chemical sectors developing effective solutions to complex energy, environmental, sustainability and technology challenges. Michael’s experience includes 30 years with the diversified global manufacturer E.I. DuPont De Nemours and Company, including leading DuPont’s US advocacy on energy, environment and sustainability matters. In that role he helped to establish and lead the US Climate Action Partnership, the business-NGO coalition that advocated for effective, predictable US climate policy, and was active in the development and passage of the major reforms to the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA).
More recently Michael has established and led the policy oriented business coalitions the Sustainable Chemistry Alliance, representing companies across the global chemistry value chain pursuing greener chemistry, and the Ultra Low Carbon Solar Alliance, comprised of manufacturers across the solar PV supply chain seeking to build a more resilient, sustainable and lower carbon solar supply chain.
Michael has broad technical, policy and communications expertise in fossil and clean energy; energy efficiency; greenhouse gas emissions and mitigation; manufacturing; science and technology and sustainability. He has extensive experience with the Congress, the White House, Administrative Agencies, State capitols and the European Commission, as well as with key stakeholders in the energy, environment, sustainability, science and technology communities.
