Paul Pomerantz, FASAE, FACHE, serves as a Senior Advisor at HillStaffer, where he brings a wealth of expertise in healthcare and executive management with trade associations and health services organizations. With a distinguished career spanning leadership roles in some of the nation’s most influential healthcare associations, Paul offers HillStaffer clients unparalleled insights into navigating complex healthcare policy landscapes and optimizing organizational governance.
Paul’s extensive experience in association leadership equips him to provide strategic, operational, and governance expertise to trade associations, professional societies, and mission-driven organizations. His proven ability to align organizational goals with effective governance practices ensures that HillStaffer clients achieve sustainable success while maintaining integrity and accountability.
Paul’s addition to HillStaffer strengthens our capacity to guide clients through complex healthcare policy landscapes and nonprofit governance challenges. His track record of leading associations through growth and transformation equips our clients with actionable insights for achieving policy objectives and optimizing internal operations.
Before joining HillStaffer, Paul served as CEO of several prominent health and medical associations, including the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA), a 55,000-member organization with a $50 million budget. During his tenure at ASA, Paul led the association through a transformative turnaround, driving growth and expanding its influence within the healthcare sector. He has also held CEO roles at the Drug Information Association, American Society of Plastic Surgeons, Society of Interventional Radiology, and Clinical Laboratory Management Association.
Previously, Paul held executive roles at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and the Medical College of Pennsylvania (now Drexel University).
Paul’s leadership extends beyond his executive roles. He has been an active contributor to the professional association community, serving as chair of ASAE Business Services, Inc., the ASAE Foundation, and the Association Forum. He has also held key positions such as treasurer of the Council of Medical Specialty Societies and chair of the National Health Council (NHC). In 2024, Paul earned certification in Leadership Coaching in Organizational Performance. Through these roles, Paul has demonstrated his commitment to advancing best practices in association management and healthcare leadership.
Paul holds a Master of Business Administration specializing in health administration from Temple University. Paul resides in Chicago with his family and enjoys mentoring emerging leaders in both the healthcare and association management fields.
