PETER MOLINARO
Peter Molinaro serves as Senior Advisor of HillStaffer. Mr. Molinaro is a corporate veteran who brings over 40 years of public and private sector experience in the fields of public policy and public affairs.
Prior to HillStaffer, Mr. Molinaro served as Vice President, North America Government Affairs for the Dow Chemical Company, responsible for U.S. federal and state, and Canada government affairs professionals and advocacy management for the company. In addition, Mr. Molinaro had responsibility for directing and maintaining relationships with national political, governmental and non-governmental organizations, and leading the company’s advocacy efforts on U.S. energy and climate change policy.
Mr. Molinaro offers vision, experience and creativity in multiple areas for HillStaffer clients, including advocacy strategy; federal, state and local issues management; lobbying; community relations; policy analysis and development; organizational design and development; non-traditional stakeholder and activist engagement; and, design of multi-faceted advocacy campaigns. Given his multinational experience, Mr. Molinaro’s areas of issues expertise are broad and include environment, energy, natural gas, petrochemicals, climate change policy, regulatory reform, and chemical safety and security.
Prior to joining Dow, Mr. Molinaro served as Assistant Director of Government Affairs for Union Carbide Corporation, having first joined the company as Manager of Community Affairs and, subsequently, serving as Regional Manager of Public Affairs at which time he was responsible for state government relations in the northeast.
Mr. Molinaro is a member of the Business-Government Relations Council and has served in numerous voluntary leadership positions including the Board of Directors of the American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy; Vice-Chairman of the Public Affairs Council; Chairman of the Federal Government Affairs Committee of the American Chemistry Council; and the Advisory Committee of the Indiana University Manufacturing Initiative. He earned a master’s degree in public administration (MPA) from the University of Hartford and a bachelor’s degree in political science (B.A.) from Central Connecticut State University.
A native of Danbury, Connecticut, Mr. Molinaro is married with two daughters and currently resides in Oakton, Virginia.
