Peter J. Berry



Peter Berry serves as Senior Advisor of HillStaffer. Mr. Berry is an association executive who brings over 34 years of leadership experience to HillStaffer clients. As both a former Chief Staff Officer and as president of an international association management company, Mr. Berry deepens HillStaffer’s existing representation of not-for-profit and association clients.

Mr. Berry is a seasoned leader with expertise in operational, structural, and policy issues that challenge associations today. His experience, vision, and expertise in multiple sectors enable HillStaffer clients to better understand how to allocate resources efficiently while managing successful and effective government relations efforts. Having created, managed, and then sold a business with 60 employees, Mr. Berry brings a unique understanding and perspective on the issues that challenge this sector.

Prior to HillStaffer Mr. Berry served as President of Association Resources, an association management company that managed U.S. and international associations in multiple sectors including education, healthcare, law enforcement, and general business. Mr. Berry served as the Chief Staff Officer for two international associations, and has developed a particular expertise managing legislative Fly-Ins, including coordinating Hill Appointments, hotel, meeting, transportation, and other logistical support. Mr. Berry has served as the Chief Staff Officer for the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators, the International League Against Epilepsy..

Mr. Berry is involved in numerous volunteer leadership efforts as well. He is currently Vice Chair of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) International Section Council. He is active in the Professional Conference Management Association (PCMA) where is serves on the Awards Committee and on the Government & Advocacy Committee for the Capital Chapter.

Mr. Berry is a former member of the ASAE Public Policy Committee, Chairman of the Connecticut Convention and Sports Bureau, a former Connecticut State University System trustee, and was an elected delegate from Connecticut to the 1995 White House Conference on Small Business.

A native of Connecticut, Mr. Berry earned an M.S. in Criminal Justice at Northeastern University and a B.A. in Political Science from Central Connecticut State University. He is married and has two grown children.
