Proactive monitoring of legislative and agency activity is an integral to an effective government affairs program. In general, monitoring can include informal, oral reporting of key events on a periodic basis or written briefing suitable for our client’s staff and key stakeholders. We also provide documents electronically that our clients can circulate to their membership, use in a newsletter, or post to their website or Twitter feed.
The level of monitoring can vary from issue to issue, depending upon specific needs and the particular use of the information gathered, but may include tracking floor and committee actions or reporting on agency and regulatory actions. When appropriate, it might also include attendance at hearings or markups, and outreach to key staff.
